About Us

Independence, friendship, and enrichment.
Since 2012, Rhinebeck at Home has been creating community for older adults living in the Town of Rhinebeck.

We are a membership-based, volunteer-driven organization and part of the national Village movement, which supports neighbors who wish to remain active and living in their own homes. Today, Rhinebeck at Home includes more than 300 members who participate in social, educational, and cultural programs, as well as a network of mutual support.
Our Mission

We believe in the power of community to help older adults in Rhinebeck live with independence, purpose, and joy. Our members are our power, building a community of meaningful connections.

By attending events, joining interest groups, and helping one another, we create a vibrant and supportive network. Rhinebeck at Home members not only enjoy a strong sense of friendship and connection but also receive a hand when they need it, whether that's a ride to an appointment, help shopping or a helping hand with a small chore.

We're all about neighbors helping neighbors and staying connected, so everyone can continue to live full, independent lives within their community.

The Village Movement

Rhinebeck at Home is part of a national network of over 245 "aging in place" villages, with another 50+ in development. We are members of the Village to Village Network (VtV), a peer-to-peer network that helps communities establish and improve villages in metropolitan, suburban, and rural settings across the country.

Like other VtV villages, we are a membership-driven, grassroots organization run by volunteers and minimal staff, all working to help people age successfully in their own homes and communities. Learn more at vtvnetwork.org.  Each Village in the network has its own characteristics.  Some have paid staff, some emphasize support and others lean toward social and community connection.
