About this event
What it was like to live during World War II in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where the world’s first atomic bomb was built. What were the considerations that went into bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki? How did the use of the bomb influence nuclear policy after the war? August 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of that historic event. Inspired by the research for her historical novel, Hill of Secrets, set during World War II, in Los Alamos, author Galina Vromen will bring alive that momentous period and discuss its impact on nuclear proliferation today.
